General Orthopedics

Our general orthopedic doctors address a wide variety of disorders affecting bones, cartilage, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. They are trained in all aspects of the musculoskeletal system and are committed to helping you achieve and maintain optimal orthopedic health and movement.

As one of our patients, you can expect a thorough and informative consultation. Our providers give you a detailed diagnosis, clear explanation of your injury or condition, and options for treatment.

They share information in terms that are easy to understand and they encourage you to actively participate in the decision-making process. We want you to be comfortable with the direction of your care and the decisions made to help improve your situation.

If necessary, our general orthopedists are happy to consult with and/or refer you to another sub-specialized orthopedic surgeon within our group.

The most common disorders and diseases treated by our general orthopedists include:

Many injuries or conditions can be resolved with non-surgical treatment options such as physical or occupational therapy, cortisone injections, viscosupplementation, or PRP therapy. However, if you and your doctor determine that surgery is the best treatment option, our surgeons offer a number of procedures that can reduce your pain and speed your recovery.

Arthroscopy

An arthroscopy procedure involves small incisions and is guided by a miniature viewing instrument or scope, which allows the doctor to examine the joint in great detail. If treatment is necessary, tiny surgical instruments are inserted. Arthroscopy has a number of benefits over traditional, open surgery, including:

  • No cutting of muscles or tendons, which means less tissue damage
  • Smaller incisions, which means less scarring
  • Shorter recovery period
  • Decreased pain
  • Decreased risk of infection

Arthroscopy is not appropriate for every patient. Your doctor will evaluate your condition and discuss the diagnostic and treatment options that are best for you.
