We’ll also help you understand how your injury occurred and educate you on how to prevent re-injury. We work with student athletes at a number of local schools, including those in districts 11 and 20.

Post-Operative Rehab

Our therapy team also has extensive experience in post-operative rehabilitation, particularly for rotator cuff repairs, knee surgeries such as ACL reconstruction, cartilage repair, Achilles tendon repair and ankle arthroscopy, and total joint replacement of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.

Hand Therapy

At Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group, we have certified hand therapists on staff to work with those who have a debilitating hand or wrist injury or condition. The complex anatomy of the hand and wrist often requires intricate surgical procedures, and our certified hand therapists have specialized training and advanced skills in post-operative therapy programs for hand and wrist injuries.

The requirements to become a certified hand therapist are stringent, and our clinicians must participate in frequent continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on treatment techniques.

Balance Training

In collaboration with our Osteoporosis & Bone Health Clinic, our physical therapists have gone through specialized training to help improve your balance and reduce the risk of a fall. This includes identifying some of the variables that affect balance, including your eyes (visual), inner ear (vestibular), and musculoskeletal (somatosensory) factors that help you maintain balance.

Among older adults, falls are the #1 cause of injuries and death from injuries. More than 1 in 4 older adults reported a fall throughout the year. Of these, over 7 million injuries occurred as a result of a fall and more than 27,000 adults died as a result of the fall (statistics from the CDC). Let our physical therapists help you improve your balance and keep you healthy and active. Call  (719) 867-7320 for more info.

One-on-One Care

Because you and your injury are unique, our therapists will provide you with a personalized treatment plan to help you meet your individual rehabilitation goals. They will work with you one-on-one to alleviate your pain, improve your strength, and maximize your range of motion, function, and independence.

Treatments may include biomechanical assessment, exercise programs, hands-on manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic modalities.

Continuity of Care

We developed our own, in-house rehabilitation services to make sure you receive the best care from your initial visit through the remainder of your healing process. Together your doctor and therapist will oversee your care, working hand-in-hand to help shorten your recovery time and ensure optimal outcomes. Our goal is to get you back to work, sports, or your active lifestyle as quickly and safely as possible.
