Spine Care

The Spine Center at Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group is privileged to have some of the most well-trained, capable spine doctors in all of Colorado. Our orthopedic surgeons and spine specialists understand the challenges that you may be facing, such as living with back pain or having trouble managing simple daily activities because of wear and tear on your body. We are ready to help you start the road to recovery.

Our goal is to provide you with comprehensive care and to make your experience as informative and pleasant as possible. Our specialists are fellowship trained to treat spine conditions exclusively. This focus allows them to dedicate more time to spine-specific research, patient education, and new surgical techniques.

The expert surgeons at The Spine Center understand the intricacies of the spine and are dedicated to providing quality, state-of-the-art care for a wide range of conditions involving the upper, middle, and lower sections of the spine.

Our services range from treating conditions such as herniated discs and low back or neck pain, to more complex problems such as spinal tumors, scoliosis, and stress fractures.

The majority of spine problems can be treated without surgery. In most cases, our doctors will refer you to our in-house physical therapy department to try conservative treatment first.

Common conditions we see and treat include:

  • Bulging and herniated discs
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Scoliosis and congenital spine deformities
  • Sciatica
  • Whiplash
  • Slipped vertebrae – spondylolisthesis
  • Stress fracture – spondylolysis
  • Spinal tumors

When surgery is appropriate, our surgeons perform minimally invasive techniques and utilize the latest innovations in spine surgery. Some of the most common procedures are listed below, with links to our patient education library for more information.

Spine procedures:

  • Spinal lumbar fusion
  • Artificial cervical disc replacement
  • Minimally invasive lateral access spine surgery
  • Minimally invasive posterior fusion spine surgery
  • Lumbar discectomy
  • Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF)
  • Kyphoplasty / vertebroplasty (for spine fractures)
  • Laminectomy
