Sports Medicine
The physicians at Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group know athletics. Many of our surgeons are not only subspecialty-trained in sports medicine, but they also enjoy highly active lifestyles. With decades of experience, they know how to provide the best care to athletes of all ages, from school-aged players to “weekend warriors” and professional athletes. We offer state-of-the-art care and a wealth of experience to our active community.
Our sports medicine doctors support local athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. We serve as team physicians for the sports programs at Colorado Springs School Districts #11 and #20. Our specialists have also worked with the Anaheim Ducks, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Pittsburgh Pirates, and several US Olympic teams.
The most common sports injuries we see include:
- Knee Ligament Tears and Reconstruction (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL)
- Meniscal Tears
- Sprains and Strains
- Tendonitis and Bursitis
- Achilles Tendon Rupture
- Shoulder Instability

Treatment Options
Our sports medicine doctors believe in conservative treatment before surgery. Some of the non-surgical options they might recommend include physical therapy, cortisone injections, viscosupplementation, or PRP therapy.
If you and your provider decide surgery is your best option, our providers will take great care of you using the most advanced procedures and techniques, such as arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and computer-assisted surgery.
If you have a sports-related injury, give us a call at 719-632-7669 to schedule an appointment. Or you can visit our Express Care walk-in clinic with no appointment for specialized care at a lower cost than at the ER. Call 719-622-4550 for more details or visit csogexpress.com.
